Our Story
We are high school sweethearts who got married in 2023 and have a shared love of ice cream! We knew we wanted to make our wedding day unique to us which included serving hard scoop ice cream for dessert since that is both of our favorite treat so Damie came up with the idea to build an ice cream cart!
It’s a dream of ours to open a lakeside ice cream shop one day and we felt God nudging us to take a step toward that goal by sharing the ice cream cart we built for our own wedding and making it into a licensed mobile food cart that we now use to cater ice cream at other weddings and events in northern Minnesota.
We intentionally designed our custom catering cart to have a clean, minimal look which we accomplished by installing a clear top display freezer, neutral wooden countertops, a drop in sink, and a beautiful fringe umbrella. We proudly serve a rotating selection of Kemps hard scoop ice cream in your choice of sugar cone, waffle cone, or paper cup (all eco friendly!). We are so excited to share our love of ice cream with others and spread happiness by bringing The Vangstad Creamery Cart to your event!
Meet Damie + Olivia
Outside of scooping ice cream, we manage a resort near Leech Lake in northern MN. Together we have over 10 years of experience working jobs in weddings, events, hospitality, and customer service. In our free time we enjoy spending time with our baby girl, being at the lake, reading books, playing games, and going for walks, runs, or bike rides outside!
